# How to start, restart or stop services in HestiaCP?

You may need to stop, restart, or start a service. Whether it is causing overload, has crashed, or for any other reason.

To do this, follow these steps:

1. Click on the gear icon in the top menu.
2. From the list of main services, select the one you want to affect by checking the box on the left.
3. You will see a floating menu of options where you can stop, restart, or even modify the service configuration.
