How to enable two-factor authentication or 2FA in cPanel?

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a security measure that requires two forms of identification. After entering your password, you must enter a security code.
An app installed on your mobile device provides this code.
Without your mobile device at hand you will not be able to log in to cPanel.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Setup

To configure Two-Factor Authentication, follow these steps:

  1. Click Set Up Two-Factor Authentication.
  2. Link your cPanel account with your 2FA app downloaded on your mobile device:
    • To create the link automatically, scan the displayed QR code with your app.
    • To create the link manually, enter the Account and Key information provided by your app.
  3. Within your 2FA app, obtain the six-digit security code.
  1. Enter the six-digit security code into the Security Code text field.
  1. Click Set Up Two-Factor Authentication.

Remove two-factor authentication

To remove two-factor authentication, click Remove Two-Factor Authentication.
